Comparative neurotranscriptomics reveal widespread species differences associated with bonding

چکیده
Abstract Background Pair bonding with a reproductive partner is rare among mammals but an important feature of human social behavior. Decades research on monogamous prairie voles ( Microtus ochrogaster ), along comparative studies using the related non-bonding meadow vole M. pennsylvanicus have revealed many neural and molecular mechanisms necessary for pair-bond formation in that species. However, these largely focused just few neuromodulatory systems. To test hypothesis gene expression differences underlie differential capacities to bond, we performed RNA-sequencing tissue from three brain regions other behaviors across bond-forming voles. We examined amygdala, hypothalamus, combined ventral pallidum/nucleus accumbens virgins at time points after mating understand species baseline, response mating, during bond formation. Results first identified region as factors most strongly associated our samples. Next, found categories cell structure, translation, metabolism differed virgins, well synaptic neuroendocrine signaling, transcription translation varied focal study. Additionally, genes were differentially expressed each interest. These include involved regulating transcription, neuron plasticity. Finally, modules co-regulated correlated both species, post-mating not Conclusions results reinforce importance pre-mating confer ability form pair bonds promiscuous such Gene ontology analysis supports involves transcriptional regulation, changes neuronal structure. Together, expand knowledge process open new avenues

Trichoderma Species Associated with Medicinal Plants
Objective: The genus Trichoderma comprises a great number of fungal strains that act as biological control agents, the antagonistic properties of which are based on the activation of multiple mechanisms. Methods: Trichoderma strains exert biocontrol against fungal phytopathogens either indirectly, by competing for nutrients and space, modifying the environmental conditions, or promotin...

Comparative genomic analyses of Leishmania species have revealed relatively minor heterogeneity amongst recognised housekeeping genes and yet the species cause distinct infections and pathogenesis in their mammalian hosts. To gain greater information on the biochemical variation between species, and insights into possible metabolic mechanisms underpinning visceral and cutaneous leishmaniasis, w...
متن کاملOrbital Granulomata Associated with Widespread Angiitis.
CONSIDERABLE attention has been paid in recent years to cases in which necrotic granulomata have been found in association with widespread lesions showing angiitis of the polyarteritis nodosa type. Occasionally the orbit is the site of such a granuloma. Straatsma (1957), describing the ocular manifestations of Wegener's granulomatosis, and Cutler and Blatt (1956), making a similar survey of cas...
متن کاملFusarium Species Associated with Foxtail Millet (Setaria Italica) in Iran
Objective: Fusarium diseases that cause grain mold and stalk rot of millet are the most important diseases, of these crops in Iran. Fusarium can cause stalk rots, ear rots, and grain mold, resulting in serious production losses in millet, and produce mycotoxins that are harmful to both humans and domesticated animals. Methods: A total of 23 Fusarium isolates were rec...
